The truck rolled up big and white this morning. The crates were cracked open and inside rested a snipet of our lives from more than ten years ago. As the movers unpacked, I found myself yearning for a note. Something to bridge the gap between the woman who packed the crates, to the one […]

I surrender to this day. The feelings of conflict, the feelings of self doubt, the feelings of impatience. I surrender to each and all. As today has taught me more than others, that it is those feelings that push towards growth, IF you let them be. Let them be your signal, let them lead your […]

I get asked all the time. Do you shoot in color? The absolute answer is yes. Every shot is captured in color, then meticulously developed into three different versions. Black and White (of course), Sepia, and Color. I want my clients to have the ultimate choice, because some moments are best remembered in living color. […]

I never knew thinking could be so cute. Jackson’s “hmmmmm” can be heard several times a day. When picking out a sticker, choosing a snack, or even when he is role playing with his toys (the toys have big decisions to make too!). Its the intonation that gets me. The hmmmm starts off high and […]

When I look at him, I still see his face as I did when he was just born. That expression, that look is still there. I suppose I will always be able to see it. Just hard to believe that little baby is big enough to hold me now and to tell his little brother […]

Last week it was as if I watched Jackson embrace fear. I saw right before my eyes as he learned to hide from things, learned that a cuddle could make it feel better, or that he should be a little more careful. It was an amazing part of him to witness for the first time. […]

five little monkeys

my story

There is something about the way they look at you or that little giggle that gets you every time. That moment that tugs a little harder on your heartstrings. The moment that you tell yourself you are never going to forget. As a mother, I find refuge in the natural images of my children, images that bring me right back to that smile, giggle or moment.

Those images grow stronger as the years pass. At the moment the photo is taken I see it as it was. Years later and I am transported back to the moment and I feel like I can be right there again. I can even hear that little giggle that goes along with that look. To me that is the strongest investment I can make; being able to freeze time and return to it anytime I want.

I personally created Serena Nicole Studios with a mother's wish in mind. I wanted a custom photography experience to capture all of those natural looks, smiles and giggle that will transport YOU in time. Looks that are carefully crafted by a fluid and natural portrait experience that is child centered. My photographic style is very tender to encourage every one to feel comfortable so they can show me their style all their own.

I see your family as I would want to capture mine. Those looks between a mother and child, a finger wrapped tightly around yours. Candid expressions that showcase what makes your family unique and all your own. So that years later you can remember more than what you looked like but what you felt like too.

Let’s Get to know each other
