It is our first day of summer break. I am so excited for what this summer will hold for Jonathen. Each year I have a list of what we will accomplish through our special time together. This year is no different. It is like a new start, fresh and full of possiblity. Last year was […]

Matt is such an amazing daddy to our boys. Not a day goes by when he doesn’t long for more time with them. We talk and talk about a time when the military won’t be in charge of our life, won’t be the one to take him away from his loves. A few more years […]

I love this moment. I loved this moment through my lens the second I snapped the shutter. The connection, the story, I just sat there feeling lucky to witness such a thing. Then to know I had it for all time. So that one day when Jonathen grows old he can look back and remember […]

In our busy day to day, conversations are centered all around function. Could you throw me a diaper? Could you bring me some toilet paper? Did you buy deoderant? You know, the glamorous topics that come with living day to day. But on date night, we got to talk, talk about real things. And best […]

It was the 52nd inning, or what felt like it, and it was Matt’s turn out on the field and Jonathen’s turn to kick. A friendly game of kickball, parents versus kids. Jonathen walked into the dugout with his teamates and proudly announced, I am at the back, and I had to giggle when two […]

I felt the weight of Matt being away every single day. Each day I always wonder how the boys are truly feeling. Do they feel that he is gone like I do? I try to do it all. I play Mom and I play Dad and I give everything I have to make the house […]

my story

There is something about the way they look at you or that little giggle that gets you every time. That moment that tugs a little harder on your heartstrings. The moment that you tell yourself you are never going to forget. As a mother, I find refuge in the natural images of my children, images that bring me right back to that smile, giggle or moment.

Those images grow stronger as the years pass. At the moment the photo is taken I see it as it was. Years later and I am transported back to the moment and I feel like I can be right there again. I can even hear that little giggle that goes along with that look. To me that is the strongest investment I can make; being able to freeze time and return to it anytime I want.

I personally created Serena Nicole Studios with a mother's wish in mind. I wanted a custom photography experience to capture all of those natural looks, smiles and giggle that will transport YOU in time. Looks that are carefully crafted by a fluid and natural portrait experience that is child centered. My photographic style is very tender to encourage every one to feel comfortable so they can show me their style all their own.

I see your family as I would want to capture mine. Those looks between a mother and child, a finger wrapped tightly around yours. Candid expressions that showcase what makes your family unique and all your own. So that years later you can remember more than what you looked like but what you felt like too.

Let’s Get to know each other
