I announce it is time to read books, Jackson quickly grabs two cars, one for each hand, and runs to the stairs. He throws his arms up in order to ask me to carry him. He picks his favorite book, we read it and giggle. Then he jumps off my lap and disappears. Jackson, where […]

The phone rang and when I answered I could hear a familiar voice behind a wall of tears. I need you, she said. Sometimes in this life a door closes gently and allows you to gracefully exit with a bow. Other times, doors slam, hard and fast. Those are the most fascinating ones. Those are […]

Pancakes, in our house it is the one thing everyone agrees on. Two years ago, that wasn’t such a weighty statement. Everyone pretty much ate everything! Not to name names, but these days getting everyone at the table to eat the same thing, is picture worthy. Even with that, you notice there at two types […]

He woke up, caught eye of the blocks and nestled right down to play. He pulled them out one by one and tried to figure out how they went back together. He put them in little piles, then tried to fit those piles into each other. Only he would pick the biggest block and try […]

This picture brings a huge smile to my face for so many reasons. This picture is over 20 years in the making. Little Milo is the son of a dear childhood friend. We both announced we were pregnant about the same time and it was so fun, even across the miles, to share our pregnancies […]

Jackson has been really enjoying his duplo blocks. Stacking them a million different ways with an attention span that is even longer than mine. I found myself watching him instead. That is when I noticed his lips. Each time he concentrated it was as if the bottom lip ate the top one. Just on one […]

my story

There is something about the way they look at you or that little giggle that gets you every time. That moment that tugs a little harder on your heartstrings. The moment that you tell yourself you are never going to forget. As a mother, I find refuge in the natural images of my children, images that bring me right back to that smile, giggle or moment.

Those images grow stronger as the years pass. At the moment the photo is taken I see it as it was. Years later and I am transported back to the moment and I feel like I can be right there again. I can even hear that little giggle that goes along with that look. To me that is the strongest investment I can make; being able to freeze time and return to it anytime I want.

I personally created Serena Nicole Studios with a mother's wish in mind. I wanted a custom photography experience to capture all of those natural looks, smiles and giggle that will transport YOU in time. Looks that are carefully crafted by a fluid and natural portrait experience that is child centered. My photographic style is very tender to encourage every one to feel comfortable so they can show me their style all their own.

I see your family as I would want to capture mine. Those looks between a mother and child, a finger wrapped tightly around yours. Candid expressions that showcase what makes your family unique and all your own. So that years later you can remember more than what you looked like but what you felt like too.

Let’s Get to know each other
