Part of why I love being a custom photographer is that I can shoot anywhere. It is all about creating a custom experience for my client. So when this Momma said she would like me to capture bathtime and playtime I couldn’t think of a better place than in her home. Shooting in the clients home creates such an authentic location. Not only is the child completely at ease but the setting captures its own set of memories and emotions. I personally love it.
For this at home shoot we started at a nearby park and then went home to warm up in the bath. We even had time for a little playtime in her bedroom before it was time for me to go. I had such a great time for so many reasons. First, Naoko, the Mom, is from Japan. Having a very American child who claims his heritage is half Japanese should share how much my family loves the Japanese culture. Getting to spend time rattling off my not so wonderful Japanese and talk about all the things we cherish in that wonderful country was a blessing. Then the smiles from this little Cutie kept me smiling all morning long. We were fast friends and I loved every minute of it.
