There is nothing like a new year to gift to you a new beginning. I believe this journal needs just that. It has been the most neglected member of the Serena Nicole Studios family for some time and that my friends is about to change. 2010 is sure to bring you a more updated, inspirational, and must visit journal than ever before. So as I wish you and yours a Happy New Year I ask you to come along and visit often as I hope you may just get inspired. Here are a few of the changes that will be taking place.
Showcasing: It will still be the best place to see my latest work. I will still be showcasing clients here but it may be a little differently than what you are used to from me. I will be doing more of a picture of the day style.
Storytelling: I will still be sharing the stories of my clients, my work, my passions. You can not get rid of ‘me’ that easily!
Interviewing: I have the priveledge to hang out with the coolest parents and I get asked time and time again, how did you know what to do for your carreer? I also talk with many parents who are now stay at home parents and are looking for ways to still express themselves or what to do when the kids return to school. So… once a month I will be interviewing Moms and Dads who I hope will inspire you to think outside the box, or perhaps to jump off and give your passion a try.
Giving: This year I am beyond inspired to give back to you. One way I hope to do so is to hear your stories, or stories of someone you know that a portrait session could really touch. We live in a world of long deployments, living away from loved ones and I want to help those I can help the most. More information will be coming soon on how to nominate someone you care about or even your own family.
Commenting: I hear from so many people all around the world how they enjoy viewing and reading my journal. This year as I pledge to give back to you, I ask you to return the favor. Let’s make this the community place that I know it can be. Comment on the showcasting, storytelling, interviewing and giving this year and you will be giving back too! The goal is to receive 1000 comments in 2010. If we do that together than I will personally donate 1000 dollars to the charity of our choosing (we will vote mid year). I know how much the comments mean to the families that are showcased here, so now you can do you part to give back in more ways than one!
Announcing and Sharing: My family is going to grow by one magnificent little girl this spring. Here you will meet her, greet her and watch our family grow with her. I am sure there will be lots of stories along the way. We all feel so blessed and can not wait to share our lives with you.

Because a journal posting is not as fun without pictures I bring to you a sneak peek of our little princess that will be arriving in April. She has a very exciting photography launch happening very soon (I will be sure to share that here with you too!!!)
