mini session 2

I was lucky enough to meet Colleen at my son’s preschool class this year. Her sweet son B and Jackson go to school together. I would love to personally name her super mom. She has a heart of gold and sweetness just oozes from her! I am so inspired by her strength.

There is so much more to this amazing family than you may be able to see at first glance. You see sweet B was diagnosed with Duchenne, a form of muscular dystrophy that affects 1 in 3600 boys, when he was 2 years old. Duchenne results in a loss of strength in the muscles and causes a shortened life span due to this weakness. There is hope. There is a new medication that is in the hands of the FDA that has shown to hold off symptoms and therefore offers a better quality of life. Only the FDA is not being quick to approve this drug. This is devastating to the Duchenne community as time is not on their side.

To know little B is to love him. There is such vibrance and joy in his whole being! Please join us in this fight by praying for the best outcome for all of these boys and that this drug will soon be passed by the FDA. You can learn more about the Labbadia family in this local news story HERE.

Traveling around the world to connect with clients is my version of a dream job. I absolutely love connecting with the kids year after year and I feel so lucky to get to follow families and watch them grow and change over the years.

I will share that there is an element of “mission impossible” to my travel sessions. When my plane hits the ground I am off and running, location scouting and finding the perfect spot. We book our sessions months in advance with the time of our session and then I disclose the location usually an hour or two before!! It is exciting and my clients are so trusting that it makes it fun.

This little gem of a location I had spotted on the internet a few weeks before my trip as a place to check out and it ended up being on 5 minutes from the Wells family!!! It was perfect in every way. We had such fun exploring and playing together.

I got to meet the latest edition to the Wells family on this trip out! The cutest and sweetest little puppy ever. These kids just adore their new little one and there is nothing sweeter than watching the four of them play.

What a beautiful evening with a sweet family. I am blessed.

I feel so lucky. For the last few months I have had the chance to work with an amazing designer on my new website. Yes, I may be related to this amazing desginer BUT that doesn’t mean that I got treated any differently. Shelley is amazing to work with. She was so very patient with me and the product, I couldn’t be more excited to share with you!

I told her the direction I wanted to go and she ran with it in such a beautiful way. A way I couldn’t have imagined myself.  I wanted a one page site that just scrolled instead of having to click around back and forth. Within minutes she sent me ideas that she had and together we turned those ideas into a site that really showcases my work.

A few months ago a sweet client of mine, Heidi, suggested that I have pictures on my site that change from black and white to color. I thought that was brillant as it would allow me to still keep the black and white that I hold so dear to my heart BUT also answer the question if I shoot in color! Would you believe that halfway through the design Shelley made that very suggestion! I am in love with the way it turned out. On the computer you can mouse over to see the color version and on a mobile you can click to see the color!  Just like this: Screen Shot 2015-08-26 at 10.04.40 AM

If you peek down at the bottom left you can see sweet Heidi’s face peeping out!  I felt it was only fitting to put her beautiful family in our concept!

I also love the new testimonials section. You have wrote me some of the most beautiful words over the years. Now there are pictures to go along with your words. I love that Shelley took the most important parts of the love letters and brought impact by keeping them short and sweet!
